MAGGIE TERNES - VET TECH /ASSISTANT

Maggie came to the NVS staff in April 2024. She is originally from the KC area. She began working in the veterinary world as a kennel /groomer assistant during high school. She attended Kansas State University to pursue pre-veterinary. Her junior year she decided to change paths to Animal Science and finally settled on Production Management. She graduated from KSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in May of 2020 right when COVID began. With few jobs available, she decided to attend the Vet Tech Institute of Houston expanding her knowledge in the veterinary world from the technician side. During her second year there, she did an 8-week externship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital advancing her technician skills in the equine world. She moved to Wichita for the first time ever to be closer to her future husband and family. Maggie worked at a small animal clinic for 2 years in Derby. Missing working with large animals lead her to Ninnescah Veterinary Service. In her free time, she enjoys summer at her family’s lake house, attending concerts and events around the Wichita area with friends, playing with her 2 dogs and cat, and traveling. Maggie will take her licensing exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technician this fall.
